Wow, 1 year has gone by so fast!  I am awful at keeping up with this blogging stuff. My Goals for 2012 were accomplished.  Here is a great side by side comparison...

Running a 5K; well I ran several 5k's they were fun and I even had my oldest son (9 yrs old) run one with me, he did great!  I hope 2013 he will run more with me.  Maybe even do one without needing to stop.  For 2013, my goal is to continue running 5k's, but improve my times.  I don't really have the heart to run any more than that.  Once I cross that finish line, I am thankful it is over.  Maybe because it is still hard for me, or maybe it is just because I never loved running.  Maybe by the end of 2013 I will have that answer.

As far as weight loss, I am doing GREAT.  I was hoping to be at my goal weight by the end of 2012, but that was a hope more than a goal. I am not at my goal weight, but feel so much better and look a whole lot better too.  Maybe 2013 will by my Goal Weight year! Here is to hoping!!

Cross Fit Triton has been great, my other Goal of 2012 was to work out 3-4 days a week, well there were several weeks I got there 5 days!  CFT opened their doors on Sunday's now too so there is the option of going on the weekends which is great.

As part of the CF community, I joined in a nationwide Paleo Challenge and did AWESOME in it.  It was 9 weeks long and I lost 18 lbs, 10+ inches overall and felt great.  The Challenge was over the day before I left for Vacation and then there were the holidays, so it is time now to buckle down and get back on it!  The Paleo Healthy Eating was great, I loved everything I ate, I never felt hungry and I never really craved anything.  Ok - maybe craved cheese but other than that, it works for me.  I still am doing weight watchers because I need the accountability of if.

So, my new personal goals for 2013:  Continue running 5k's but make the times better -  10 min miles or less.  And finalize my weight loss so I can have a future goal at CFT doing bandless pull ups or double unders, etc.    Here is to 2013!!!

Feeling Motivated

I feel like I am on track. I am eating healthy again, struggling a little with the snacking at 3:00 but trying to bring in veggies and fruit to munch on.  But I also started my Couch to 5k program today!  My plan this week and for the next 9 weeks to go to CFT (Crossfit Triton) Monday's, Wednesday's & Friday's and to train for the 5k on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Saturday's.  Giving me Sunday as my rest day.  I don't think I will feel like I am overdoing it because I am mixing things up.  I also have high hopes that training for this run will actually help me at crossfit.  I struggle with the breathing aspect of the sport.

So far so good!  Feeling GREAT!

First Week

I definately struggled this week.  Our Kitchen was in the final stages of being remodeled so I really couldn't control what and how dinners were cooked.  I was able to do pretty good during the work hours, but dinners I did my best.  For the most part I stayed within my points and I tried hard to drink as much water as I could.  I started back at Crossfit, first week at CFT (Crossfit Triton).  I started Monday and couldn't move until Friday when I went for my second class.  This upcoming week, my goal is Mon-Wed-Fri to get back in the swing of things.  Once my body feels "right" I plan to start going Mon,Tues, Thur,Fri.  I have been wanting to move it up to 4 times per week but yet to do so.

Monday is my weigh-in days, after a tough week of starting out, I did manage to lose 2.7 lbs!  Yahoo :)  Now that our kitchen is done, I am hoping that I can get back on track for eating healthy at home and keep up a 2 lb per week loss.  I know for me that is stretching it, last year my average was 1 lb per week, but my head is in the game a little better at this point.

As far as the running a 5K, I started some online research for shoes and training.  All I need to do is go shopping for some attire (for the cold) and shoes then I plan to start.  The training I found is a 9 week course, if all goes well, I should be able to run my first 5K by spring.

Day 1 - Holding Myself Accountable

This is the start of holding myself Accountable.  I am coming out of my shell and opening up my life and feelings to everyone.

A Year ago today, I started my weight loss journey.  I took it slow, but it was steady.  Over the past year I lost 37 pounds and hope to loose that and more this year.  I was always and athletic person and was always on the go.  Over the years work, school, friends and family all became more important and I lost the drive to get out and move.  The drive inside me is back, now I just need to let it shine.  I have set new goals for myself.

Back in highschool I used to run daily with a neighbor of mine and we ran probably close to 2-3 miles each night.  This year I have decided to make it my goal to run a 5K.  I need to get past the "I can't do it anymore" or the feeling of "what if".  I know deep down I can do it, it will just take time.

I think my issue over the past few years is due to everying always came easy to me when I was heathly and athletic.  Now that I am not, it isn't easy and trying to overcome that is plain and simple - hard.

Here is what I looked like 1 year ago when I started this journey.  I don't ever want to be this big again.
